Aprilia has unveiled its most awaited sports motorcycle, Aprilia RS 660 on its official website and gave us a confirming clue that we’ll soon experience its launch. Nice and exciting to see the sports motorcycle to hit the launch list. The company promises that this mid-weight sports segment will give a thrilling experience.
With a weight of 169 kg how radically aprilia has sculpted the RS 660 borrows every possible resemblance from RSV4. The twin LED headlamps with LED DRLS and a modern TFT display of 5-inch having two display modes give some add on style to the motorcycle. It has a power source of 660 cc liquid cooled parallel twin cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 100 hp, the torque is still not known, although we can speculate approx. 75 N-m of torque @7000 rpm. The 6-speed transmission gearbox along with slipper clutch rotates the rear wheel.
Being a sports segment motorcycle Aprilia has offered RS 660 every premium technical mastery as possible. It features two way quickshifter, wheelie control, traction control, cruise control, cornering ABS and five switchable riding modes. It will be available in two color schemes, black and red which we used to see on RSV4 1100.
It will have a hot competition during its launch. Rivals are Kawasaki ZX-6R, Yamaha YZF-R6, Triumph Daytona 765 and the upcoming Honda CBR 600RR. Aprilia RS 660 is an efficient aerodynamic shaped machine with smooth edged wind dividers and ergos.
