Want a long ride? Harley Davidson is the first name that comes in mind, and not only that, it is a renowned two wheeler manufacturer for its power, class and reliability. Despite of being the largest and oldest automobile manufacturer, the company is experiencing some lack of audience and attraction, and if you’re saying the cause of this experience is COVID 19, you’re right to some extent. Many two wheeler manufacturers are trying every possible modern technology to equip in their motorcycles, to make it an audience magnet, and it seemed that our renowned two wheeler manufacturer has lacked a step behind in this.

To make the game even, Harley Davidson is planning a self-balancing technology to equip in their motorcycles. They have filed a new patent application for gyroscopic technology which will be added to their Tour-Pak top case and will be mounted in the upcoming new Harley bikes on rider’s demand. The gyroscope will help the motorcycles to balance itself at speeds below 5 kmph or at stand still, cool to see Harley Davidson with no side stand.

The gyroscope equipped will help new riders and short height riders to balance the heavy motorcycle easily.

The gyroscope comprises of a heavy flywheel which will be mounted to an electric motor, the electric motor will give a rip of 10,000 to 20,000 rpm to the fly wheel. The motor will be integrated inside a gimbal which will move in according to the twist and turn of the motorcycle. The gyroscope will be connected to a computer controlled linear actuator which will help Harley bikes to have a balancing aid.

The gyroscope will also be added to the Tour-Pak top case

The company hasn’t given any news about the gyroscope or about its launch, but this tech will not only attract audience of all ages but also to new bikers and short riders who feels that the bike is too heavy to control at low speeds. If a rider wants, the gyroscope will be removed anytime he/she wants. The gyroscope will surely give little hike to the cost, we’re still waiting from the American manufacturer to give an official launch date to the new tech.
