KTM 390 and 790 series is quiet popular among the riders,
although there was a rumor which surfed the air about KTM entering in the 500
cc platform. Well this rumor became a crystal clear news when recently the CEO
of KTM Stefan Pierer confirmed that KTM will soon add 500 cc series in their
portfolio, he confirmed that the 500 cc platform is in the works and will be
launch somewhere around 2022.
The CEO explained that the 500 cc launch will have positive results in the market, from our side of view, the global COVID 19 crisis hit like an ice berg which make the market sank like a Titanic. Almost every automobile manufacturer loss their customers in the outbreak, to gain back market KTM is expecting that the 500 cc series will act like an audience attracting machine.
Customers has a positive attitude towards the 390 series, an upgrade to 500 cc will undoubtedly have an impact. Reports has that the KTM Duke 490 naked street fighter will make its first entry in the market followed by 490 RC Duke Adv 490.
Just like the elder 790 series, the 500 cc series will also be integrated with parallel-twin engine. The 500 cc series will connect the 390 cc series with 790 cc series. India might also be in the target list of this new platform as KTM holds quite a popularity here.
The motorcycles will be equipped with every items required for stunting and racing as trellis frame, colored screen console, ABS, traction control and so on. For now, KTM hasn’t revealed any news regarding the upcoming platform.
