New TVS Launch

· TVS Motor Company has registered a name “Ronin” for a new product trademark on the national trademark registry.
· The company plans a new launch by 2021 with no unveiling of the motorcycle segment.
· There are high chances the motorcycle would be from the joint venture of TVS and BMW Motorrad.
· It is speculated that the name might be for a cruiser segment or adventure tourer segment, these two fields are untouched by TVS.
“Ronin”, the name sounds like a superhero name, but in actual this name is registered by TVS Motor Company for its new product trademark on the national trademark registry. In short, the TVS Motor Company has set its gears to launch a new motorcycle in the market by 2021, the motorcycle segment still remains a mystery though. There are high chances the motorcycle would be from the joint venture of TVS and BMW Motorrad.
As it is unclear that which motorcycle segment TVS is going to catch up with, there are many probabilities that are being assumed. It is speculated that TVS might be working on to launch a cruiser segment in the market, and to be corrected, their first cruiser segment. The home grown brand has not made an entry in the cruiser segment, though they have unveiled a concept model named TVS Zeppelin in 2018 Auto Expo which is a cruiser performance and “Ronin” could be the production version name. With few changes in design and performance the motorcycle could give some serious competition to Bajaj Avenger.
TVS may also lay a hand in naked sports segment, there are some speculations which say that TVS working on the naked sports version of the Apache RR310. Apache RR310 is a handsome motorcycle both in looks and performance, a naked street version with some upgraded features add on might bring many of its competitors down. Rumors have that “Ronin” could also be used for an adventure tourer segment as well. Though the chances are less as the company hasn’t spoken about ADV segment since 2017 during the launch of Apache RR310. It would be interesting to see how the company will come up with ADV segment.
Although these are all speculations, but has most probability if TVS is planning of something new. The cruiser and ADV segments are unexplored by TVS, the name “Ronin” could be the name of a new motorcycle of a new segment or maybe not. But with recent success of TVS over Norton, the brand has chances of success in new steps forward.
