After securing a perfect 5-star rating at the Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) crash tests and making itself country’s second Made-in-India car to have secured a perfect five star after the TATA Nexon, TATA Motors launched it’s highly awaited premium hatchback Altroz starting with a price tag at ₹5.29 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). The automobile giant also augmented Nexon, Tiago and Tigor.

This adorn automobile is available in five trim levels- XE, XM, XT, XZ & XZ options.

The Altroz comes with two BS6-compliant engine options, a 1.2-litre petrol motor which produces a 86hp and 113Nm of torque and a 15-litre diesel motor which produces a 90hp and 200Nm torque. Both the versions will be available with a five-speed manual transmission. The TATA company is also working on dual clutch automatic gear box which will go up for sale in the second half of 2020.

The petrol variant of TATA Altroz 1.2-litre Revotron goes from ₹5.29 to ₹7.69 lakhs while the diesel variant of TATA Altroz 1.2-litre Revotorq goes from ₹6.99 to ₹9.29 lakhs.

Inspired by the albatross, the TATA Altroz will be the first product to be engineered on TATA Motors new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture and will go up to compete with Maruti Suzuki Beleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz that are priced between ₹5.45 lakh and ₹9.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
