2021 Triumph Trident Prototype Unveiled

Showcased in the London Design Museum, Triumph has debuted the final design prototype of its upcoming retro classis roadster Trident that is scheduled to launch next year. According to Triumph, the motorcycle has taken 4 years to develop, the Italian designer Rudolfo Frascoli who has also put some design to Tiger 900 has contributed design inputs to the motorcycle.
In a single view, one can clearly say that the design prototype of the motorcycle has shared some components from the Triumph Street Triple. Triumph has described the motorcycle’s design as a ‘contemporary take of Triumph’s style and attitude’.
The specification details are not revealed by the company, except that the motorcycle will feature triple cylinder engine. If the motorcycle shares components from the Street Triple, then we expect that the Trident has borrowed the engine as well that is 765cc liquid cooled engine. The engine pumps out a 118 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 77 Nm mated with 6-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle is built on a twin spar aluminum frame, rear sub-frame, die cast aluminum swing arm, the rear monoshock, the USD front forks, alloy wheels, braking system and tyres are all common in both the motorcycles.
The Triumph Trident will hit the showrooms in Europe in Spring next year, the motorcycle is expected to enter India after some months from its international debut. It is expected that the motorcycle will be the most affordable Triumph product till date until the launch of the first product of the collaboration of the Triumph – Bajaj in 2022.
