The bike is powered by 1285cc Ducati Superquadro V-Twin engine.

The motorcycle comes with hub-centre steering known as Hydraulic Wired Steering System developed by the Alyen project leader Ascanio Rodrigo in 2004. The separation of steering and braking forces from suspension in hub-centre steering helps with the weight shift under steering giving the rider to grab a full control over the motorcycle.

The frame and the wheels of Alyen is made up of carbon fibre, the wheels are from the firm Rotobox made with forged “Bullet” carbon units claimed by Vyrus. It is built with double beam magnesium chassis known as Double Omega Design, all these makes Alyen a low weight motorbike.
